The Brief
Rovco is a pioneer in AUV and ROV 3D computer vision technologies and their application in subsea. The business had been positioned as an ROV survey business which was not only limiting from a growth perspective, but also did a disservice to the business – they were so much more than that.
The business had traditionally taken a functionality-led approach to messaging, focussing on the technology offered rather than the value in the way their services were delivered.
By combining AI, autonomy, the latest 3D vision technology and a solutions focussed service, the business was already operating as a services business but this was not being articulated in their messaging or sales materials, limiting the type of deals they were able to secure.
The Approach
The team interviewed internal stakeholders from across the business to understand the Rovco difference and, working in partnership with their in-house marketing team and the board, developed a new positioning and messaging for the business. This new approach not only firmly placed them in the services market, but created an ownable space for the brand that Rovco could own and grow through brand workshops
With a new-found direction, wider offer and clearer focus on the benefits of the Rovco approach, the business was empowered to go after more long-term, strategic engagements and has gone on to close numerous deals that will support the businesses’ ambitious growth plans.
The change is already happening internally and its now time for Hundred to start articulating this externally with the website as the main focus.
